Hi, 

in the last weeks my free time for Orga was very short. 

Unfortunately, the screen of my Psion broke last week and showed only
black stripes. Fortunately, I got it back today. 

The time to finish the next version of Orga became a little short before
the time- limit of Orga 0.94 is reached. 

Now, version 0.97 is ready. You may download it from my homepage. There is
no need for you to fill in the form on the download page. 

I had to re-write totally the drawing procedures for printing because Orga
didn't print on some printers. Additionally, I implemented dynamic memory
allocation for the strings in Orga, especially to realize the notes (see
below). These are the reasons why I decided to publish another beta
version. 

What is new in 0.97? 

1. There are notes for the organizational units which can be used for
different purposes:

- You can take additonal notes about the persons in your chart  which are
not shown in the chart.

- You can use the note box to present an assistant or secretary on the
right side of a unit.

- You can fill a note box with the members of a team which is drawn under
its team leader.

2. To keep the overview with a large chart, use the explode mode: only the
marked unit with all employees and managers will be shown, all other units
are hidden.

3. To move a unit with its branch of employees in the row of its
colleagues easily, there is a new function to move a unit right or left.

4. If you choose 'zoom on page' from the menu 'View', the zoom factor is  
 adjusted in such a way, that the chart will fit on one print page.

I attached two screenshots to demonstrate the new functions: 'sample.gif'
contains notes, 'explode.gif' shows the explode mode.

There are still some problems with printing especially if you have to
print on  multiple pages. The time was too short for me to realize a
solution for this. 

I hope that it is possible now to print on any printer. Could you please
check,  whether you are able to print. And if not (<shrug>), which kind of
printer you are using and describe the problem. 

The additonal functions of version 0.97 are not yet described in the
French help file. I shall tell you when it becomes available.

If you find errors, please report them to me. As always, I am interested
in your comments:  

- What do you think about the new functions?

- What do you want for the future of Orga?

This version is valid until 28. February, 1999. Depending on the number of
new  bugs which I implemented (smile), I shall decide when to release Orga
as  unlimited freeware version.
